Junk Removal in Hapeville, GA
We load and haul the things you no longer want out of your home, yard, attic or shed. Before anyone lifts an item, you get a written quote that lists what we're taking and what sets the price, so the total at the end matches what you agreed to.
What general junk removal covers
Junk removal is the mixed-load job: an old recliner, a stack of warped particleboard shelving, bags of clothes, a broken treadmill and the boxes that have sat in the hall closet for years. We bring the crew and the truck, carry everything out from wherever it sits, and take it away for donation, recycling or disposal.
Pricing in this trade comes down to space in the truck and weight. A sofa takes up a lot of volume but weighs little. A few buckets of tile or an old cast iron tub take almost no room but push the load toward the scale limit at the transfer station. That is why we walk through the items with you and write the scope down before work starts. If something gets added on the day, we price it and you approve it before it goes on the truck.
If your job is mostly one kind of item, our furniture removal, appliance removal and construction debris pages cover those details. This page is for the general cleanup that doesn't fit a single category.
What your price covers
- Pickup right where it sits
- Upstairs bedrooms, attics with pull-down ladders, backyard sheds: we pick items up where they are. You do not need to drag anything to the curb first.
- Breaking down big pieces
- Entertainment centers, bed frames, sectionals and swing sets often will not fit through a door in one piece. The crew carries hand tools and takes them apart so stair rails and door frames stay unscratched.
- Guarding your floors and walls
- On long carries we lay runners on finished floors and pad tight corners. Dragging a dresser across hardwood or tracking in wet Georgia clay causes most cleanout damage, so we pick things up and carry them.
- Sorting for donation and recycling
- Where we can, we set aside usable furniture and household goods to donate. Cardboard, scrap metal and some electronics get pulled out for recycling instead of going straight to the landfill.
- Sweep-up after loading
- Once the space is clear, we sweep up the dust, staples and broken bits that collect under old furniture, so the room is usable the same afternoon.
Signs it's time for a haul-away
Rooms you've stopped using
A spare bedroom or a corner of the garage that has turned into storage is space in your home you're not living in. Clearing it usually takes one visit.
Moisture and pests in stored items
Cardboard boxes and upholstered furniture absorb humidity, which leads to mildew odors and draws roaches and rodents. Once that starts, the items rarely recover, and the problem spreads to whatever is stored next to them.
Blocked paths and equipment
Piles in hallways, on stairs or in front of an electrical panel or water heater are a real safety problem. Those spots need clear access for repairs and for getting out quickly.
A move or sale deadline
Closing dates and lease end dates don't move. A scheduled haul-away clears out what isn't coming with you before the final walkthrough.
Items too big for the cart
Regular curbside trash won't take a mattress, a sofa or a pile of old lumber. If it won't fit in the cart, it needs a separate haul.
What moves the price
We price by how much of the truck your items fill, adjusted for weight and access. Every factor below is spelled out on your written quote, with upfront pricing and no hidden fees. If the scope changes on the day, you approve the new number before we load.
Volume
The main driver is how much space the load takes, measured as a fraction of the truck. Breaking items down flat can sometimes bring it down.
Weight and material
Dense material like concrete, roofing shingles, dirt and plaster is charged by weight at disposal sites. A small pile of it can cost more to haul than a bulky load of furniture.
Items with handling rules
Refrigerators and window AC units hold refrigerant that has to be recovered before scrapping, and mattresses and tires carry separate fees at many facilities. We list these line by line so you can see where the cost comes from.
Access and carry distance
A third-floor walk-up, a narrow basement stair or a long carry from a back fence line adds labor time compared with items staged in a garage.
Disassembly
Pieces that have to come apart to leave the room, like a bolted bunk bed or a wooden playset, take extra time and are noted in writing up front.
How a junk removal job runs
- 1
Call us for a starting price
Describe your items and where they are. Many jobs can be priced during the call, and for big or hard-to-explain loads we can come by for a free on-site estimate with no obligation.
- 2
Scope confirmed in writing
Once the crew is there, we go over the item list and the price with you on paper. You can see what is covered and what would change the number before a single item is lifted.
- 3
Carrying and loading
Pieces that need it get taken apart, floors are covered along the route, and heavy items ride low near the front of the truck for a safe trip. Change your mind about an item and it stays with you.
- 4
Sweep and drop-off
After the space is clear we sweep it, then split the load among donation, recycling and disposal sites that take each type of material.

Common junk removal questions
Will the price change after you see what I have?
Your written price covers the list we settle on before loading. It only moves if items are added or the load is much heavier than described, such as boxes packed with books or tile. In that case we show you the difference and wait for your approval.
Which items can't you take?
Disposal sites refuse hazardous materials mixed in with household junk, so wet paint, solvents, pool chemicals, motor oil and propane tanks can't go in a regular load. Latex paint cans that have dried out are often fine. If something has you unsure, ask when you call and you'll have an answer before we schedule.
Do I have to be home while you work?
Not always. When the items are outdoors or in an open garage, we can agree on the written price by phone and send photos after the area is clear. For work inside the house, most customers like to be present for the walkthrough.
Do you donate items that still work?
When they are in good condition, yes. Unstained furniture with sound frames, working small appliances and boxed household goods are set aside for donation. Items with mildew, pest damage or missing parts go to recycling or disposal.
How should I get ready for the crew?
You don't have to move anything. It helps to tag the items that stay with tape or a note and to leave a parking spot open near the door or driveway to keep the carry short.
Do you work outside Hapeville?
Yes. We pick up from homes in East Point, College Park, Forest Park and other nearby towns, and the Service Areas page lists them all.
