Furniture Removal in Hapeville

We carry old sofas, mattresses, recliners, dressers and desks out of your home and haul them away. Our crew does the lifting, takes apart what will not fit through a doorway, and gives you the price in writing before the first piece moves.

When it makes sense to hire furniture removal

Most furniture is more than a curbside pickup or a car trunk can handle, by weight, shape or size. Inside a sleeper sofa sits a steel fold-out frame that can take it past 200 pounds. A solid oak dresser is heavy enough to hurt your back on one step. A sectional delivered in three parts may now be held together by brackets no one recalls installing.

We treat furniture removal as a job of its own, not something tacked on. We check every piece and the way out of the room, then put in writing what we will take and the price. For a full room or a mix of more than furniture, see our junk removal and basement cleanouts pages for those bigger jobs.

What our furniture removal covers

Carry-out from any room
We lift from wherever the piece sits now: an upstairs bedroom, a finished basement, a back porch or the far corner of the den. You do not need to drag anything to the driveway first.
Disassembly when the route is tight
Bed frames, bunk beds, sectional brackets, table legs and the mirror on a dresser come off with hand tools so pieces fit through narrow halls and stair turns. We stack the hardware and haul it out with the piece.
Mattresses and box springs
Mattresses and box springs are bulky and flexible, which makes them hard to steer around a landing. We bag or wrap them as needed for the carry and take them out with the rest of the load.
Protecting your floors and frames
We pad corners on door frames and banisters where a heavy piece has to turn. Glass tabletops and mirrors are removed and carried separately so they do not crack mid-lift.
Sorting usable pieces
Sturdy solid-wood furniture in good shape can sometimes go to donation instead of a landfill, when a charity will accept it. Broken particleboard, stained upholstery and torn mattresses go to proper disposal.
Sweep-up after the carry
Furniture leaves behind dust, loose screws, coins and the occasional lost remote. We sweep the spot where each piece stood before we leave.

Signs a piece of furniture is ready to go

  • Sagging seats and broken springs

When the sinuous springs under a sofa cushion snap or pull loose from the frame, the seat sinks and no cushion fixes it. Repairing the frame usually costs more than the sofa is worth.

  • Particleboard that has swollen

Pressed-wood dressers and bookcases soak up moisture and swell at the edges, and Georgia humidity speeds that up in garages and basements. Once the board crumbles around screws, drawers and shelves stop holding.

  • A mattress that has lost support

A visible body dip, coils you can feel through the top, or new back aches in the morning all point to a worn-out mattress. Box springs with cracked wood slats belong in the same load.

  • Recliner mechanisms that bind

Bent metal linkages and worn pivot points make a recliner jam halfway or tip unevenly. The steel mechanism also makes these chairs heavier than they look.

  • New furniture is on the way

If a delivery is scheduled, the old piece has to be gone first. We can haul it away ahead of time so the delivery crew has open floor.

What decides your furniture removal price

We price furniture by the truck space it fills and the effort it takes to get it there. Each factor is explained on your written quote so the number makes sense. Pricing is upfront, with no hidden fees.

How many pieces and how big

One armchair fills far less of the truck than a sectional plus a king bed and two dressers. Volume moves the price more than anything else.

What it is made of

Steel-framed sleeper sofas, solid hardwood armoires and marble-top tables need more from the crew than hollow-core or particleboard furniture.

Stairs and the route out

An upstairs bedroom, a basement with a tight stairwell or a long haul from the back of the house adds carrying time. Pieces on the ground floor near a door go quickest.

Taking pieces apart

When a piece has to be unbolted or broken down to clear a doorway, that takes added time, and the quote says so.

How it gets disposed of

Mattresses and box springs can involve their own disposal handling, so they show up as separate lines.

What happens on furniture removal day

  1. 1

    Phone quote or home visit

Let us know which pieces are leaving and which rooms they are in. We can price it on the phone, or visit for a free on-site estimate with no obligation when the list is long or the way out is awkward.

  2. 2

    The price goes on paper

Once on site, we check the list of pieces, walk the route to the truck and write down the price before anyone lifts. Add a piece that day and we revise the written price for your approval first.

  3. 3

    Disassemble, pad and move

We take off legs, headboards and glass, cushion the tight corners and bring each piece out to the truck. Anything heavy or awkward gets two people.

  4. 4

    Load up, sweep, done

We keep donation pieces apart from disposal pieces in the truck, sweep where each item stood, and the job is finished.

Common questions about furniture pickup

Should I drag the furniture outside before the crew comes?

No. We pick it up in whatever room it is in. Clearing a walkway and emptying the drawers is the only prep that helps.

Do you pick up a single couch?

Yes. One-piece pickups are routine for us. The written price is based on how big that piece is and how hard it is to get to.

Can a sectional or sleeper sofa make it down a narrow stairway?

In most cases. Sectionals separate at the brackets that join them, and pulling the fold-out mechanism from a sleeper sofa cuts a good deal of its weight. We check the turn in the stairs before choosing how to move it.

How fast can you get here?

Depending on the schedule when you call, same-day and next-day service is available. If new furniture is being delivered and the room has to be clear first, give us that date and we will work around it.

Where does furniture in decent condition go?

Sturdy, clean pieces go to donation when a charity will take them. Anything broken, stained or infested goes to proper disposal.

Can an old refrigerator or washer go on the same trip?

Yes. Mention it when you call and we put it on the same written quote. See our appliance removal page for how we handle fridges and other units.
